The August edition of the Scottish Cricketer has been
published early, to provide up-to-the-minute news in
advance of the big Scotland v England match in
Edinburgh. Also in this edition: Cricket Scotland
launches its new Development Trust, sundry columnists
deal with different angles on the ongoing weather
controversy, and there's a report on Innellan CC's
10th annual tour to Yorkshire. don't miss it: it's
compelling reading!

New President
As you are all no doubt aware, as the bush telegraph
works wonders, Malky Dunn has resigned as president due
to ill health. Personally , i think the pressure of the
position was too much, even for him. Fortunately, Mr.
McKissock, has agreed to step into the breach until the
next AGM. Roumers that Gordon Higgins had resigned as
our treasur are severly over rated, so GET YOUR MONEY
OUT !
Fixture List 2008
I have posted the final fixture list for next season
here. Please take a look
at it and try and make as many dates available as
possible available. Here's hoping for better weather
this season than last. Many thanks to Robin for his hard
work in creating this action packed season. See you
there !
Slogging The Slavs - available now
Angus Bell a friend of Niall Marshall's has toured
eastern Europe playing cricket in the unlikeliest places
and has written a book based on his experiences -
experiences which are incredible but one hundred percent
genuine! Have a look at the synopsis below and feel
free to purchase a copy or three......for the record
Niall Marshall is not receiving a percentage for
promotional work!!
" Scotsman Angus is innocently working for the
Montreal Mafia when a Psychic tells him an infant ghost
is feeding him ideas. He's told he'll be leaving North
America to embark on a travelling media project. When
the words "CRICKET" and "UKRAINE" pop into his head, he
uncovers a cricketing world across central and eastern
Europe.
From tournaments on ice in Estonia to University
leagues in the crumbling Crimea; from a Croatian
military island to communist Belarus, Slavs are playing
the Englishman's game. Angus sets off in his Skoda to
smack them all for six.
With fingerless 'Tamil Tigers' in Prague, a bomb
plotter in the Austrian Alps, mafiosos and an MI6 Secret
Agent making the teamsheets, Angus soon discovers a
shadowy side of eastern European cricket."
